Video competition from S.T.A.G.
Your chance to win 500€ worth of sailing, just by making a video of your trip
Sail Training Association Germany (S.T.A.G.) is a non-profit organisation that we are members of. They have a yearly contest to promote the creation of videos about sail training. This is all the information you need about it:
Conditions of participation
- You are between 14 and 27 years old.
- You have sailed or will be sailing on a ship member of S.T.A.G. (like Atyla).
- You send your video to foerderung@sta-g.de before the deadline.
- The deadline for the 2021 contest is the 30th of September 2021. But this contest will most probably repeat next year.
Prizes
- 1st place: € 1000
- 2nd place: € 700
- 3rd place: € 400
IMPORTANT: The prizes are divided 50/50: Half of the prize goes to you to pay for your next trip, and the other half goes to the operator of the ship where you did your video. In our case, we will take that money as a donation from you to our Scholarship Fund.
Additionally, if you participate and don’t win, but the video is nice enough for us to publish, from the Atyla ship Foundation we compensate you with a 100€ voucher for any of our trips.
Other important details:
- STAG doesn’t have indications about the content or length of the video. We recommend you to let your creativity fly, and create a video that could inspire others to join a similar experience.
- The video can be submitted individually or as a group
- You need to be a member of S.T.A.G to win, but becoming a member of STAG is cheap, and you can actually also apply for their Youth Funding to help you pay for your trips! See all the information here.
- The trip(s) that you do with the prize money have to be on a different S.T.A.G. ship than the one on which the video was made. See here the list of all member ships.
- The videos are curated through two rounds, one of which consists of an internal jury from S.T.A.G.
- The winners will be notified by email and their name will be published.
By participating in the contest, you agree to the following:
- Your basic personal data will be stored and processed by S.T.A.G. for the sole purpose of this video competition.

If you win, the video will be published: You assure that you have all rights to the submitted video, that the video is free from third-party rights and that no personal rights are violated when people are shown. If one or more people are recognizable on the video, they must give their consent to the video being published.
