Sailing excursions in Cádiz during the Tall Ships Races 2023
How is the excursion?
We will welcome you and give some explanations, then we will leave the dock and start sailing. We will set up the sails and try to turn off the engine. There will be plenty of moments to take cool pictures (remember to mention @atyla_ship if you publish them).
Prices:
The normal excursions are 2.5 hours long, and the price is 41€ adults/24€ children (1-12 years old).
The excursion during the sailing parade (Sunday at 13:15) is 4 hours long and costs 59€ adults/34€ children. In this excursion, we will sail in a parade with the other ships, and then turn around and cross paths with all them. Perfect to see all the giants sailing from up close.
Notes:
- Due to a technical issue, we don’t serve drinks on board, but you’re welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks for the excursion.
- All excursions start and finish at the same location (see below).
- Babies less than 1 year old can join for free and need no reservation.
- Not being punctual for the departure means losing the ticket.
- There’s a toilet on board you’ll be able to use if you need it.
- Smoking is allowed on deck. Always try not to disturb anyone and never throw the cigarette butt overboard.

Frequently asked questions:
What do I need to bring with me?
It is recommended to bring some warm clothing (the temperature at sea is normally lower than on land).
Also, to avoid damaging the joints of the ship’s wooden deck, shoes with heels of thinner than 4 centimetres are not allowed on board. For comfort, we recommend that you wear sport shoes.
What happens if I'm late?
You will see the ship from the shore, sailing away.
We’re sorry, but we need to keep the schedule out of respect for the other people on board.
Boarding starts 5 to 10 minutes before departure, please be on time.
What if the excursion is cancelled due to bad weather?
If you have a reservation and your trip gets cancelled due to bad weather, we will notify you via email at least 3 hours in advance, and we’ll give you the opportunity to choose a different date or obtain a full money refund.
If we don’t get in touch, that means that the excursion is still going on. Atyla is a sturdy seagoing vessel, and the weather has to look quite bad for us to cancel. If it’s just a bit cold or a bit rainy, get a nice jacket or a raincoat and show up, it’s going to be a fun adventure.
What happens if I need to cancel?
What if the excursion I want is sold out?
We recommend you to find a different date available. If that doesn’t fit, you can also get in touch, and we’ll let you know if there are any cancellations, but that rarely happens.
Is this activity recommended for families?
Yes, it definitely is. It’s a fun and interesting activity where both the children and the parents will enjoy doing something active and outdoors in nature.

Visiting the ships and other activities of the Tall Ships Races Cadiz 2023
Yes, it will be possible to visit the ships, and there will be also concerts and other activities during the celebration of the Tall Ships Races 2023 in Cadiz, Spain.
The schedules to visit Atyla will be: Friday from 10:30 to 13:00 and Saturday from 16:00 to 17:30. Other ships might have different schedules.

What is Atyla ship?
A unique ship from Spain that sails around the world
Today, Atyla is the only Spanish wooden ship that regularly participates in international regattas of tall ships and sail training ships. In these regattas, Atyla often receives the prize for the most international crew.
Atyla has been all around Europe, and as far as Russia and Canada in the last 6 years. All of this happens as a charity foundation that promotes life skills like emotional intelligence and intercultural communication.
