Cancellation policy

COVID-19 CANCELLATIONS FAIR REFUND POLICY:

In case you have booked a trip, or are planning on booking one, we would like to clarify that, in case your trip(s) get(s) cancelled because of Covid-19 regulations/restrictions/related issues:

  • We will let you know as much in advance as possible.
  • We will automatically send you a voucher for the full amount you paid, to book a future trip. This voucher doesn’t have an expiration date and is NOT limited to bookings on your name.
  • If in 16 months you haven’t used your voucher, you can obtain a full refund.
  • If before that date you have financial difficulties, you can get in touch and we’ll consider a refund (at least a partial one).

We hope you understand this policy and find it fair. This pandemic is affecting our young charity very heavily, and we couldn’t afford to offer immediate refunds. Of course, we will try to carry out our trips as planned. If that can’t be done we’ll actively get in touch via email, so please avoid getting in touch unless strictly necessary.

NORMAL CANCELLATIONS:

SAILING TRIPS:

If you need to cancel your trip(s) for any reason, you can get a refund according to the following percentages:

  • 100% (FREE CANCELLATION) within the first 15 days of booking your trip.*
  • 90% if you cancel 5 months before the trip’s start date.
  • 50% if you cancel 3 months before the trip’s start date.
  • 25% if you cancel 1 month before the trip’s start date.
  • 0% if you cancel less than a month before the trip’s start date.

* If the trip starts in less than 15 days after the booking (last minute bookings), free cancellation is reduced to 3 days.

If you don’t want to be bounded by this policy, you can get a travel insurance that covers cancellations. For example, the insurance company “TopSail” offers a Tall ship specific policy that costs about ~31€ for a 7-14 days trip.

You can also do the following at any time:

  • Get your money back by finding a person to replace you.
  • Gift your trip to a family member or a good friend (#bestPresentEver).
  • Donate your trip to our Financial Aid Fund which will give someone from an underprivileged background the opportunity to take your spot.

WINTER VOLUNTEERS (Deposit):

In case of cancellation from our side, or if your application is not successful, you’ll receive a 100% refund of your deposit.

In case of cancellation from your side, 30€ will be always deducted of any refunds, to cover the administrative costs of the communications with you. Of the rest, you can get:

  • 100% if you cancel 40 days before the start of your volunteering period.
  • 50% if you cancel 20 days before the start of your volunteering period.
  • 0% after that.

VOLUNTEER CREW (Deposit):

In case of cancellation from our side, or if your application is not successful, you’ll receive a 100% refund of your deposit.

In case of cancellation from your side, 30€ will be always deducted of any refunds, to cover the administrative costs of the communications with you. Of the rest, you can get:

  • 100% if you cancel 4 months before the start of your volunteering period.
  • 50% if you cancel 3 months before the start of your volunteering period.
  • 0% after that.
