Cancellation policy for deposits

This policy applies to deposits made on this page: https://crew.atyla.org/product/deposit

The reason why the deposit is paid through Bigcartel is that it allows us to keep those payments separated from our normal bookings, and it allows for easy refunds directly to the same credit card or PayPal account used to pay.

 

WINTER VOLUNTEERS

In case of cancellation from our side, or if your application is not successful, you’ll receive a 100% refund of your deposit.

In case of cancellation from your side, 30€ will be always deducted from any refunds, to cover the administrative costs of the communications with you. Of the rest:

You can obtain a full refund if you cancel with an “understandable reason”. The list of understandable reasons is the following:

  • You found a new job (you’ll have to mention, during your application process, that this might happen in your case).
  • You got ill (this includes Covid-19).
  • Any other reason that you’ve discussed per email and has been acknowledged as an understandable reason by our team.

Without an “understandable reason”, you can get:

  • 100% if you cancel 40 days before the start of your volunteering period.
  • 50% if you cancel 20 days before the start of your volunteering period.
  • 0% after that.

VOLUNTEER CREW

In case of cancellation from our side, or if your application is not successful, you’ll receive a 100% refund of your deposit.

In case of cancellation from your side, 30€ will be always deducted from any refunds, to cover the administrative costs of the communications with you. Of the rest, you can get:

  • 100% if you cancel 4 months before the start of your volunteering period.
  • 50% if you cancel 3 months before the start of your volunteering period.
  • 0% after that.

SCHOLARSHIPS RECEIVERS

In the unlikely case of cancellation from our side, you’ll receive a 100% refund of your deposit.

In case of cancellation or no-show from your side, you will lose your deposit.

If you need to change the trip you’re booked on after you have a trip, we can try to help you out. Email us and we’ll see what can be done.

FOR ALL CASES: How do the refunds work?

Refunds are sent to the same credit/debit card or PayPal account that was used to make the deposit. So you don’t need to send us any bank details.

In the case of credit/debit cards, it can take some days for the refund to arrive back to the card, please be patient.

In the case of credit cards, it might also happen that the amount of the refund first goes to the card’s balance, and only at the end of the month do the funds go back to the bank account. If this happens, and it’s an issue for you, please get in touch with your bank.

To claim your deposit back, please email embark@atyla.org and give us some days to manage the refund.
